In article <>, says... > I just talked to my dealer about replacing the BIG remote on my 2000 > 9-5 by the new one that's built into the key. The car needs to be programmed to accept the new key. Normally a dealer will either do this for no charge if the car is in for other service (I.e. oil change, etc). You don't need to replace all the keys. When the programming occurs existing keys (remote & transponder) are erased. Thus as noted in another posting you must have everything on hand you want programmed (I.e. existing keys/remotes, as well as the new key). Note that the up to four keys/remotes (or integrated key) can be programmed. I just had this done today for my Viggen. I have the two original key/remotes, as well as one new integrated key. > I'm wondering if what he said about having to replace both keys is > really true.
