Subject: Re: Remote on key for 2000 9-5

Hi Thomas. I have a 2000 9-5 wagon with the BIG stand-alone remote. Last week I ordered the remote that's built into the key - it's due in in about a week. It cost me $130 plus a programming charge that the parts guy estimated to be about $20 (he wasn't sure because the service department does the programming - not the parts dept.). When I inquired with the service department as to the programming, they told me to be sure to bring in ALL my keys when I had it done. No one said anything about $130 per key!! My understanding is that the $130 is just for the new key with all the built-in functions. Even if they have to program ALL the keys, my understanding is that it's roughly $20 per key. - Rob Malkin Thomas Cormen wrote in message ... >I just talked to my dealer about replacing the BIG remote on my 2000 >9-5 by the new one that's built into the key.
