I had the exact same problem, they supposedly put on a new type of brake pad or brake assembly and so far I have had no re-occurrence of the problem and it has been over a year. However I do know what you mean by heartwrenching seconds, thankfully all my occurrences were backing out of my driveway so I was cautious until they really started catching! Peter
