Subject: 97 Saab 900s Lights always on

I have a 1997 Saab 900S (in the U.S.). It seems they hot wired the car headlamps so that they are on all the time. I assume this was based upon the import rules for '96 and '97. And now I notice that car manufacturers do no do this anymore. Q: Is there any way to put the lights back to the original factory installation so that I can use the light switch to turn them on and off. And therefore, not have them turn on as soon as I turn the ignition switch. If so, is it simple enough to do by myself? Thanks Scott.
