Jeremy, That will be a ton of work. I empathize. Make sure you get on the saabnet BB for c900's and ask there as well. I have not done this and would not be willing to do it unless there was significant extenuating circumstances. First, I would strip the '85's interior, all of it. Seats, carpet, console, etc so that you can get the harness in. The '85's have poor wiring insulation from what I have heard. Since you are at it, I would replace the whole thing. (FWIW). with the carpet and all out, it should be a bit easier to get the harness back in and hooked up. Since the engine is going to be put in, I would seriously look at the timing chain and tensioner before I put it in. The guides at least should be replaced since the engine has to come out for this. Do the front seal/oil pump o-ring, replace the shift shaft seal and boot. This is very difficult to do in place. The rest of it should be self explanatory. Get the new engine nice and clean to be able to see any leaks and fix as soon as they show up. Good luck.
