AFFAIR the '94-95 had the body colored panel between the tail lights (it could have just been the '94) '96-'97 had the reflector. up to '96 SE's were only noted as SE there was only 'turbo' on the grille. The '97's I have seen have '2.0 Turbo' under the right tail light. I do not know how they mark a V6 as I have never wanted one. These are just Opels and are no longer Saabs (IMHO) All SE's have a black lip on the tailgate. S's do not unless the customer added it. The '96 and earlier had alloy wheels with the plastic nut cover. I think the '97 and newer have the similar wheels without nut covers. the 9-3's have a rear end like the '94 with a body colored panel between the tail lights, and the license plate was moved to the bumper. This is how I identify a 9-3. Also, the front grille has broader features.
