OK, I'm probably going to end up starting a flame war again, but.... The newer Saabs are not as expensive to service since GM took them over. Parts in general for all age Saabs seem to have fallen in price since GM forced them into using more readily availible parts from their Opel division. For general maintenance, try a reputable garge that knows European cars, preferably German since Saabs seem to use German parts suppliers in their maunfacturing. Standard parts such as plugs, wirers, filters, and shocks are comparable with other makes. The non standard parts such as brakes and rear suspension can be fairly costly- a complete front brake job could run about $400 for the front brakes. Expect to spend about $300 to $500 a year for general maintenance on a 900. This my experience from a New England based 85 Saab 900 with 30k city and local miles per year usage. Jeremy
