It's a *water displacer*, and anything you put it on to try to lubricate, will just get gummed up eventually and work worse than before. If you need a lubricant (which you do), use a silicone, but don't ever put WD-40 in anything that you want to keep working. Despite what their marketing claims, that's not what it's good at. Dave Hinz
