Hi, I've got a fairly major problem. I'm hoping you people can help me out. I had two alarm controllers for my Saab. One of them got dunked in a lake and became useless. I just lost the second one. So right now my car is parked on a street curb with the alarm armed and now way for me to disable it. Is there anyway that I can turn the alarm off without the remote. This car previously belonged to my father and he's the one who destroyed the first controller. When that happened he didn't have a spare set with him, he was in a state park two states over over. Somehow, he doesn't remember how, he was able to turn the alarm off and start the car. According to the dealer this is impossible. Do any of you know how I might accomplish this? I really don't want to pay the 800$ dollars the dealer is quoting, for obvious reasons. I do have a spare key and have already used that to open the car door with the key and then popped the hood and disconnected the battery (to stop the annoying horn) I tried pulling the alarm fuse and reconnecting the battery. That stopped the alarm from sounding, but the car would then start and in about a seconds time it would then cut off. If you know how to do this, or if you have any suggestions could you please reply to both this NG and to my e-mail address, I don't want to miss any idea's if my news server misses a post.
