I have used Swain and Jones for 2 years and find them impeccable. Living midway between Farnham and Chichester I tried Lewis SAAB once when I had an error code appear. I phoned them and was asked to bring the car (96 V6 Conv) the next day and to keep the engine running. It was raining, I had the headlights on and the wipers going. I arrived, keeping the engine running. A service person turned off the CD player but nothing else, opened the bonnet, twiddled a few things and announced that I needed a new ECU (or some such bollocks). I asked what it would cost and was told £800-odd plus VAT. I wasn't keen on this advice and took the car to Swain and Jones who immediately detected that the code meant the inlet manifold had gone live or some such techno-speak and fixed it immediately for £143.80. Sorry to shout but GO TO SWAIN AND JONES!
