Subject: Re: Annoying (and worrying) oil Leak - '91 9000

My own car has a leak also from the timing chain end. The timing cover actually has a hairline crack right at the top, where one of the bolts goes in to the underside of the cylinder head. The only way to see this is to take the wing undersheet off, which is a ten minute job. Once off you really need to degrease/jetwash the end of the engine down and then run it to look for the source. If it is such a crack on yours, I reduced the problem greatly by degreasing the area around the crack and applying some high temperature epoxy resin. It has not solved it but it has made a dramatic improvement. The other thing it could be is the seal behind the crankshaft pully. Either way, you have an oil level warning light so you dont need to worry about any damage to the engine. My previous car had an oil leak from around the oil level sensor as described by someone else. <ralt33nopsamail.com> wrote in message news:3ae81f17.351628573nopsam.gte.net... > Where is the leak?
