Clive, I've just fitted a Clarion Changer in mine (97 900) and like yours, the cable wasn't pre-fitted. The route I followed was the same one the rest of the wires follow to the rear of the car (left side, round the footwell and along the sills. It was a pain getting the cable over the rear wheelarch, but apart from that it wasn't too bad.
