be prepared to 'bring it up to snuff' if it was not meticulously maintained (and maybe even if it was). This is replacement of vacuum hose, rubber grommets, etc. I bought a cherry '92 model and spent a few 100's of dollars fixing minor things. Not really difficult, but largely overlooked by most. Get a turbo even if you have to get an older one. You will regret it if you don't. The 88 and on cars had the better 9000 brakes. If maintained, they are very reliable and have engines which will last a LONG time. Listen for pinion gear whine and avoid these cars. Do not get an automatic. If it shifts smoothly and has boost to the border of orange/red, it is probably a good base to start with. Look for a complete maintenance history. A big plus. "M.W.E.
