My 2000 9-5 Aero equipped with 225-45-17 tires has now suffered bubbling or blistering on two tires in less than 2500 miles. Needless to say, both tires had to be replaced at approximately $200/tire. Saab says this is Michelin's problem and Michelin says that low profile tires are more likely to bubble with an impact, e.g. pothole and that they're not responsible for road hazard damage. My previous SAAB had 16" low profile tires but where never problematic. I can't understand why a high performance car should have tires that are so sensitive to ordinary driving. Has Saab dropped the ball here by equipping the 9-5 Aero with an inferior tire. Shouldn't SAAB and Michelin stand behind their products rather than trying to shift the blame? Any suggestions for getting customer support on this, would be appreciated.
