Check ALL vacuum lines first. Once you confirm all vacuum lines are OK, a likely culprit is the AMM (air mass meter) for the fuel injection system. I just went through de-bugging the same problem with my daughter's '87 900S. In this case, the problem was actually both. But, the real source of the problem was the AMM.
