Subject: Re: follow up engine power loss after a/c rechage work

Yuk. I live in the UK, so I don't actually need A/C. Some weeks ago I noticed a horrific scraping sound when the A/C was powered up. On investigation, there is a flywheel behind the motor (at the windscreen end) which starts up a couple of seconds after the A/C has been turned on. This was making the racket. My solution was to simply not use the A/C, but this is obviously not a solution for you. Might it be worth confirming that the pressure is correct inside that unit. I have heard that once pressure leaks out of the motor, this can happen. Just a thought.
