Subject: Borg Warner 37 Auto Question

I've been chasing an ATF leak on my daughter's '87 900S 16-valve with the Borg Warner 37 3-speed automatic with no success. The ATF fluid collects on the lower flange below the cover for the final drive at the back of the transaxle. And, from there it drops to the driveway. I've been beneath the car (on jackstands of course!) several times without any success of locating the source of the leak. Both transmission pan gaskets are new (front and rear) with no apparent leak from either. The fluid level at 90 degrees C is halfway between the full and add mark, so the transmission is not overfilled. It is not a "major" leak, but one that concerns me a bit and keeps me busy cleaning the spots off our concrete driveway! Any ideas would be truly appreciated. Thanks, Don
