I've tried "Back to Black" myself - it doesn't do much for faded black. I've also done the peanut oil thing, it's good for a couple of weeks at best. Back to the original post... if the black is bad enough, nothing will clean it. You'll need to remove a little of the surface material. I'd suggest rubbing compound. Try it in a hidden area first to make sure you like the results. Do NOT get it on your paint unless you know what it does to paint and like the idea. I've had great luck with it when treating severe flat black problems in the past. Bob
