Subject: 9-3 convertible quality......?

This is a multi-part message in MIME format. ------=_NextPart_000_0087_01C0F461.B742FE80 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hello, the 9-3 convertible looks awesome. Recently, i saw a picture of some kind of (limited ?) edition, with special wheels and colour. Being a happy BMW driver for more than 10 years, loving the ride and built-quality, you can understand that i experience some hesitation when it comes to switching to an other car brand. A friend told me that SAAB is part of GM and quite a lot of GM-parts are also used in SAAB's. He told me that the 9-3 uses the same platform as the=20 Opel (Vauxhall) Vectra, is this true ? If this is true; is this positive or negative ? To me it seems a bit negative, a Vectra is not exactly know to be an outstanding car with very good handling / quality and so on.... We used to drive a SAAB 99 EMS (long time ago...) and the built-quality was very good. Now, my question: Are SAAB's still the solid cars like in the "old" days ? I am especially curious about the current 9-3 convertible. Is it (for example) comparable with a BMW 3 series convertible ? (Sure, front wheel drive vs rear wheel drive and 4 cyl. turbo vs = inline-6 , but that is not what i mean). Does someone have more information ? Thank you very much in advance, greetings, Ignace i.tienennopsamet.nl ------=_NextPart_000_0087_01C0F461.B742FE80 Content-Type: text/html; charset="iso-8859-1" Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable <!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.0 Transitional//EN"> <HTML><HEAD> <META http-equiv=3DContent-Type content=3D"text/html; = charset=3Diso-8859-1"> <META content=3D"MSHTML 5.50.4134.100" name=3DGENERATOR> <STYLE></STYLE> </HEAD> <BODY bgColor=3D#ffffff> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Hello,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>the 9-3 convertible looks = awesome.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Recently, i saw a picture of some kind = of (limited=20 ?) edition,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>with special wheels and = colour.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Being a happy BMW driver for more than = 10=20 years,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>loving the ride and = built-quality,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>you can understand that = i experience some=20 hesitation</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>when it comes to switching to an other = car=20 brand.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>A friend told me that SAAB is part of = GM and quite=20 a lot</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>of GM-parts are also used in = SAAB's.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>He told me that the 9-3 uses the same = platform as=20 the </FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Opel (Vauxhall) Vectra, = </FONT><FONT=20 face=3DArial size=3D2>is this true ?</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>If this is true; is this positive or = negative=20 ?</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>To me it seems a bit negative, a Vectra = is not=20 exactly know</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>to be an outstanding car with very good = handling /=20 quality and so on....</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>We used to drive a SAAB 99 EMS (long = time=20 ago...)</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>and the built-quality was very = good.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Now, my question:</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Are SAAB's still the solid cars like in = the "old"=20 days ?</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>I am especially curious about the = current 9-3=20 convertible.</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Is it (for example) comparable with a = BMW 3 series=20 convertible ?</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>(Sure, front wheel drive vs rear = wheel drive=20 and 4 cyl. turbo vs inline-6 ,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>but that is not what i = mean).</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Does someone have more information = ?</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Thank you very much in = advance,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>greetings,</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2>Ignace</FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2><A=20 href=3D"mailto:i.tienennopsamet.nl">i.tienennopsamet.nl</A></FONT></DIV> <DIV><FONT face=3DArial size=3D2></FONT> </DIV></BODY></HTML> ------=_NextPart_000_0087_01C0F461.B742FE80--
