New to the group and about to become a Saab owner (1998 900 SE Turbo). I have gotten advice from a turbo owner (mid-80's, Toyotas) that the oil-cooled turbo needs to be idled at start and before stopping the engine due to oil cooling of the turbo. When I asked the sales person if this was also true of the 98 Saab, he said no, that the turbo is "air cooled" and does not require any special procedure at start-up or shut-down. Can anyone shed some more light on this? TIA, K.A. Ruppel Greenwich, NY ruppelkanopsamtal.net
