You got it - thanks. Sure enough, there is no pressure whatsoever and the motor? at the windscreen end of the engine doesn't cut in at all now, so there must have been a slow(ish) leak. Still, that fixed the screeching noise :) Better get it repaired then, eh? I'll see what the garage say and decide once I've heard a quotation. The trouble is, so much needs doing on the car now so I do need to prioritise and get maximum benefit from the cash spent. Does anyone know what the gurgling noise behind the centre of the dash is? Is this related? I have heard that it is something to do with blocked "drain holes". Cheers, Paul 1988 900T (154,000 miles+)
