Subject: Central locking problem

I have a 1993 Classic 900SE, 3 door hatch. The central locking has an intermittent fault where sometimes only the driver's side door will lock, with either the key or the alarm remote control. It can go for weeks and weeks working fine then a spate of failures will start, it sometimes stops and starts working more than once in the same day. I have previously been advised that this could be due to water being trapped in a wiring harness near the driver's side door, I had this corrected and it did stop the problem for some time. My observation was always that the problem is worse in winter time, particularly when it has recently rained. However, it is currently in one of it's 'not working' periods and here in the UK we have had a mini-heatwave for the last week, so that theory has gone out of the window ! Anyone with any ideas, please help !! Matt.
