Compasses can definitely be useful in unfamiliar surroundings, but I don't think I'd base my decision on which car to buy on one. My father put a ship's compass on his Jag. It's about 3" in diameter, so it looks a little odd, but it has a certain style to it. If I were the original poster, I'd buy a small compass for a few bucks. It might not look quite as nice as a built-in one, but at least you can still buy the car you want. Leigh
