Subject: Converting '92's AC to R134

I am sure some of you did this: converting from R12 to R134? Can this be done by someone understanding the basic mechanics? I know R12 needs to be removed by an authorized personnel. Question goes mostly for the parts? Do you need to change the compressor (got answers both ways, just checking more) and do you need to change any other parts i.e. dryer? Changeover involves changing appropriate valves and connectors - all of which should be available in a kit: any advice on where to look for the affordable ones? I would assume that cleaning the hoses of R12 oil would also be in order. So any additional info or web-pages describing this adventure would be appreciated... I avoid local dealership as they have tried to pull a fast one or two on this car before... NP --
