You're lucky, since it seems the previous owner did what I'm doing now at 130K mi.: replaced all the normal high-mileage wear-and-tear items. > Very little rust throughout the car except the hatch needed body work, > as is common for it to leak. The orig. paint still looks good. Considering my 84 900 has "lived" in Rhode Island USA all its life, where the roads are salted liberally in the winter, I have very little rust as well. The front right fender is starting to corrode a little right over the wheel, but that's about it. I plan to do the body work and repaint the vehicle before the snow flies again. > And every thing still works considering the age of the car. Even the > orig. air conditioning works really well. To get this kind of vehicle for under $2000 is a steal when you figure the ride, the enormous hatchback capacity, the seating comfort in the front and rear, and the style. My 1984 900 hatchback makes most cars on the road look like cheap little mass-produced toys. They don't make 'em like the old 900s anymore and I think they're well worth hanging onto. -jw
