It has a strait 5 cylinder engine that has very good pick up. Yeah, I can agree with what you said - I've driven both also. It bugs me alot about the hazard light being right there, and the seperate climate controls seem a bit much. I found the Volvo had a more floaty feel, not as tight as the Saab - don't know if it was the tires or what. I also believe the Volvo engine is solid cast, no aluminum and that seems like a plus to me.
