Hi folks - This is a 1989 Saab base model sedan w/ ~178K on it. It's recently been towing a trailer without problems, and I just found a disconnected vacuum line that was messing up one of the air vent controls. I just fixed that this morning, and tonight the car wouldn't start. It just cranks and cranks and I've only got one brief catch... otherwise it acts as if it's not getting gas. The spark looks OK, The fuses are fine, the fuel pump doesn't sound to be going on... I thumped on it without any change. I fiddled with the relay screwed to the inside of the left front fender (outer wall of the engine compartment) and right after that, is when I got a brief firing. There is beginning to be some rust on this and I'm sure it's a ground somewhere or a relay totally gave up. The other weird thing is that the upshift light which doesn't do anything the rest of the time... is flashing as I turn the car on. Is this some sort of code and/or clue? Any help would be greatly appreciated, Dan (meld_bnopsamo.com)
