Subject: oil pressure & temperature - '91 9k

I think I may have oil problems with my '91 2.3l turbo 9k. My oil temperature never gets above 50oC - could it be that the oil cooler temperature switch is stuck open so I am permanantly sending oil through the cooler? Any way to check this? Secondly I've recently noticed that on startup and during driving my oil pressure is fine 40-50psi, but when I stop and idle it rapidly drops to 20-30psi. Is this normal, or have I got a problem? Is it likely to be the relief valve stuck open, or might it be the oil pump expiring? Any way to check these? many thanks in advance David
