I removed the Bosch thingy, and after playing with it, I found I got a reading on throttle closed position, and also a reading at fully open. Turns out that the positioning is precise when refitting, so I fitted it back, and have (usually) both readings now. Bloody Haynes manual shows the part, but mentions only one reading measurement, despite it having three spade connectors.
