Subject: 5 spd. reverse repair works!!!

Well, I never got that maintenance website to come up, but I remembered the procedure fairly well, so I had a bloody go at it. Just finished the test drive and reverse works!!! I feel that the gear is still delicate, so we are going to be very easy on reverse for as long as it holds out. I was surprised to find that it isn't the idler gear that chips, it is the reverse gear (the expensive one, natch' :-) I have to say that dropping the exhaust pipes and removing that cover plate is sure easier (and cheaper) than a tranny rebuild. For the fellow who told me about this, thanks a zillion. Cheers/Carron "LABOR SVGIT"
