A convertible has little mid body strength and as you hit bumps, the frame flexes and the squeaks are the result of the window glass rubbing on the rubber window seal. The dealer applies a lubricant which allows the window to slide on the seal - that's about the only solution. Unfortunately, every time you wash or it rains you are washing the stuff off. Some cars have stiffer frames, which help reduce this. The Mustang might be one. The downside is that a stiffer frame is heavier, hence the need to stuff a low mileage, jumbo motor in cars like Mustangs to get any performance. Or, the manufacturer can spend more time in design with more expensive materials and stiffen the frame. Either way, you pay somewhere. The best solution is to buy some lubricant yourself and apply it every few weeks or after significant rains. I would not use silicone as it is very bad for paint and wax. Try some glycerin instead. Stay away from anything untested as you don;t want to harden the rubber. Bob
