Oh, I see. The canal bank did it. I totaled a 900 too, but it wasn't my fault. >The fenders were crumpled, the hatchback > thrown open and bent over to one side, I lost a bumper and a mirror. Yes, it amazes me how they make it through. I talked to the cop who was at the scene of my accident. He gave me a ride home and said he doesn't mind calls when Saabs or Volvos are involved because he knows pretty much the people will make it through. He also said there are always exceptions. > > > >It's ok though, because then I bought the 9000 (which I prefer anyway). > > > > I do also, but I also really, really miss the SPG. > > I think the 9000 make a lot more sense: the steering geometry especially. I'm not sure I know what you mean by steering geometry. I had always felt with the SPG I could slap it around much easier, the steering was right there....the size of the vehicle made it much easier to manoeuvre. > I always hated driving the 900 through a parking lot. You've got to get up to at least 2500 rpms, but I usually go between 4-5. I never use 5th unless I'm on a highway. >and the power seems to come on a lot more > smoothly. Of course the 40hp increase doesn't hurt either. > > What do you miss about the SPG? Well, for me the size of the 9000 is more practical since I'm usually carrying things & people but when it is just me driving the SPG just fit me better. The SPG's motor seemed better to me - I don't know why. It purred, had so much more power than the 9000 and the handling blew away the 9000 too. It was a sharp looking car, people kept asking me if I wanted to sell the rims!? Nothing ever went wrong with it, in the 9000 it seems like I get stupid little things that bug me. Like my back-up light keep blowing a fuse, windshield squirters keep getting messed up...little stuff like that. I'm happy with it though, I love driving it, it is very comfortable. ~J~
