Subject: Re: Saab Ignition - Can I replace the switch with a generic switch (long)

Shawn, <thesaabsite.com> has the OEM electrical portion of the ignition switch for a decent price (see below): 900 Ignition Switch (Electrical) ALL #8567505 $ 28.25 And, they have the cylinder locking portion for around $47, I believe. Before I would start replacing a main electrical component with an off-the-shelf "generic" switch, I would certainly consider using OEM components. The aforementioned prices certainly seem pretty good to me. I have no connection with <thesaabsite.com>, but have done quite a lot of business with them, and have been very happy with their service and quality of "exact" OEM Saab replacement parts.
