Subject: Transmission Fluid for Automatic 1989 900S



I called my local SAAB dealer for a transmission filter and before he even
gives ma a price, he states "Don't use Dextron III, use the Ford-based
transmission fluid"

So I'm confused; should I use Dextron 3 or Ford transmission fluid?

I want the least wear, smothest shifting.  I'm not worried about
performance.
