I use the plastic bag technique on my turbo Volvo. With the 900 I just put some newspaper over the frame under the oil filter. Any oil that leaks drips on to the paper. The plastic bag trick would work just as well. The Toyota V-6 3.0 liter engine in the Sienna has the oil filter mounted horizontally. When you unscrew the oil filter the oil runs down the front of the block. I use the bag and newspaper to catch the oil. I understand the shops just wash the front of the block off with a solvent.
