Any good synthetic oil is able to go at least as long as the auto manufacturer's recommended drain interval. The best ones, such as AMSOIL and Mobil 1) are capable of longer drains. The less expensive ones may have cheaper additive packages and not be appropriate for extended drain intervals. I run AMSOIL 10,000 miles/1 year in the torbo cars (or test it and keep using it). It is good for 25-35,000 miles or 1 year in non-turbo/non-diesel engines (nd has been for almost 30 years now. Dick in Falls Church
