Subject: Re: Funky smell coming from my 9-5 ventilation system

Generally two smell problems: 1) Pollen filter - needs replacing (I've never smelled it so I can't describe, but it can get pretty evil apparently - affects all makes of car) 2) Heater matrix - strong sweet smell like maple syrup - it's rusted through and leaking; replace. Can affect any car, but is a 9k speciality. My '92 9000 CS also smells bad cos it got half filled with Thames water about a year ago (Chiswick Mall floods just about daily). Now mings horrid in hot weather. I just turn the heater on and get the maple syrup instead.
