I was born, raised and have lived most of my life in snow country. I have never used studded tires. I have used snow tires sometimes. BTW KeithG, how do you know the people you see driving in May or June with studded tires are retirees? Suggest you make sure of your facts before making them generalities. What is your definition of a retiree? I am a retiree and I have no patience with 'old fart drivers' no matter what their age.
