The Audio System Two has two 6x9" speakers located in the back and two 3 1/2" (or 3" I need to check) speakers in the front dashboard. The best upgrade is too replace the rear 6x9 speakers and to mount 6 1/2" speakers in the door panel. Disconnect the speakers in the dash and just run wire to the door speakers and connect it to the front output wires on the head unit. I don't know how much this would cost in £ but it cost me 70$ for my Pioneer 6 1/2" speakers and 120$ for my Cerwin Vega 6x9 speakers. But both my speakers are rated at 60W RMS and 120W Peak as I'm planning on adding two amps of appropriate power to push them. Most likely you won't need speakers with such a high rating. You said you wanted to keep the stock headunit so for you the next step would be to add amps for the speakers if you want to. Or that may be enough for you, different people have different requirements from there stereo system. I've noticed many SAAB owners like to keep the stock head unit. Frankly I don't understand why. I think the stock SAAB head unit is low quality and put plainly, fairly shitty. I much prefer my 45Wx4 Pioneer single DIN head unit. Though I am planning on replacing it with a higher rated double DIN unit sometime in the future. Just for the fun of it I'll list my stereo system for comparison. One Pioneer DEH-1000 Head unit 45Wx4 peak 22Wx4 RMS (150$) Two Pioneer 6 1/2" two way speakers 120W peak 60W RMS (70$) Two Cerwin Vega 6x9" three way speakers 120W peak 60W RMS (120$) One MTX Thunder302 Amp 425W Peak 300W RMS (Bridged Mono) (200$) One Rockford Fosgate RFP-3415 15" Subwoofer 400W peak 200W RMS (400$) And I'm not done yet. I want to run my indoor speakers off of an amp, I'm also considering mounting replacements for the dash speakers, and I'd also want to run them off an amp if I do decide to install them. And like I said above I'm also considering getting a higher quality Double DIN head unit with a higher rating. I may also consider adding a CD changer. -- Kyle Thou shalt not provoke ASVS.
