It's actually complicated over here to get the alignment right. The beam has to be a certain height against something like a brick wall at a certain distance, as well as the nearside beam lighting the pavement in such a way as to get the correct pattern (descending beam on left from left to right, horizontal beam on right, joined to bottom of left beam, and all at the right height).
