Hi, I just bought a 1998 Saab 900 SE Turbo convertible. It has 44,000 miles on it, and a few more months of its original factory 4 year warranty. I have only had it one week but it looks and runs well so far. I am a little worried about maintenance costs down the road. Is there anything that I should be looking at carefully or trying to document before it goes out of warranty? Can I purchase a warranty extension from Saab to say 100K? Your thoughts and experience are greatly appreciated. Bryan PS I love this car! Quiet, powerful, suprisingly smooth. No squeaks and very few creaks. By the way the original owner replaced the Saab 16 inch wheels with Saab 15 inch wheels (and new Michelin MXV's). No complaints here, I suspect it makes for less harshness if also less ultimate capability. A good fit for my tastes. PPS This is my second Saab, first was a 72 Sonnett which I owned briefly in 1973.
