I hear ya and thanks for the info. I was out driving today on the highway around Providence where I live, cornering hard and pushing it a little, and it's a *very* minor shimmy, barely perceptible, and only at around 65mph. I'm just a perfectionist. Faster is rock solid and slower is rock solid. I've accelerated from 60 - 80mph to pass and it's smooth as silk. I'm bringing it in next week, but will probably take a chance and just drive at a speed that avoids the very minimal shimmy; i.e., if it ain't shimmy-ing, the inner tie rod with the slightly worn end ain't vibrating. At 70mph it's almost completely smooth. My very good local independent Saab mechanic (Conn-Tech in Rhode Island) said just take it easy. It's slightly worn is all, as it turns out. Plus I have AAA Plus and the money to fix it if it happens on the way from RI to VT. (The mechanic has already said my old Saab, with "only" 133K miles, is "in very good shape," and they see a lot of Saabs.) Just in case, does anyone know a good Saab mechaninc in the Burlington, VT area? ;-) -jw -- 1984 900 S hatchback Providence, Rhode Island
