But I'd be open to looking at the SAAB 9-7 as a second car. > I do know how to drive those, I learned on one and I was NOT too happy about > it > either. I've had no problems driving cars as small as a 1991 Corolla to a Dodge Ram King Cab. Had no problems with Explorer or Blazers or Suburbans either. I've even driven a 1985 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham straight through San Francisco's Chinatown with no problems!! One just needs to 1) know the car and 2) know its capabilities. Many people just drive drive drive drive and one day they back into a pole. > It is not a good thing, it shows how easily a car manufacturer is influenced > by > public opinion verses what is safe, and best for the vehciles status. It's > big > business, just how it goes. Ummm... "influenced by public opinion." If the public doesn't like your car.... The public isn't going to buy your car... And your company goes out of business. Why can't a "big car company" keep the car's "status" all the while taking advantage of economies of scale?? Ford's doing a fine job with Jaguar. Just remember.... Cadillac, SAAB, and Saturn are independent car makers under the GM umbrella. They have totally separate design infrastructures. They don't need to use the "GM parts bin." It's a wonderful opportunity for the 3 to spread their wings without being constrained by the mother company. You wouldn't get a car like the Cadillac Cien otherwise... Corvette killer?? Try Lamborghini Diablo killer. http://www.thecarconnection.com/index.asp?article=4066&n=156,175&sid=175 -- Marc Escuro mgescuronopsam.com http://home.att.net/~bryesquire "...when all hope is gone, you know sad songs say so much..."
