If you want to keep up with all of the other FWD cars, get the all season tires. If you want to pass the other cars, including four wheel drive models, get the pure winter tires. I drove a 900 with Pirelli Winter 190s for over 16 years. I was driving some kids home and their parent's four wheel drive SUV was parked on the road. I pulled right up the driveway and let the kids out. The parents were amazed because they could not get their SUV up the driveway at all. Its all in the tires - get dedicated winter tires if you intend to drive in the snow and ice. I don't know if the Pirelli Winter 190s are available anymore, but I hear they are 'old' technology anyway. They have a wide open aggressive tread, which throws snow out at low speed. The 'new' technology tires have sipes, which make them good on wet, packed snow - throwing the snow out at higher speeds. These tires are not as good in dry loose powder snow. An example of the 'new' design is the Michelin Arctic Alpine. I am running this on another car with good results. Either tire would be good on plowed roads. > > > Thanks, > > Neil
