Subject: Re: Suggestions re. overheated engine

Take the head off, get it checked for warp if its ok and there is no valve/piston damage re-fit with a new head gasket. If its warped its possible to get it machined flat. I wouldn't condem an engine until i'd pulled it apart and inspected it properly. If you cannot do it yourself find someone you can trust. I've had this happen on three occasions (all non Saab) and after the repair all was like new.
