Subject: Re: Does anyone use synthetic oils?

"Johannes H Andersen" <> wrote in message | My car has done 81000 miles, but still runs as new, so I have no | intention of using an inferior oil. However, I rather change | the oil more frequently than using an expensive oil such as | Mobil 1. As said before, the oil satisfies API SJ/CF ACEA A3/B3 | which is more than Saabs requirements. I never let the engine | overheat or trashing it in any other ways. Faulty logic.... It is FAR better to run synthetic oils and extend the time/mileage between changes. Synthetic oil doesn't break down and it provides vastly superior lubrication at much higher temperatures. This is the principal advantage. I change Mobil One about every 15,000 miles - once the engine is "clean", it doesn't get dirty. At times I wait until 20,000 miles if the oil is still clean. It usually is.....:) Some people never change it but change the filter every 7500 miles and add one quart of oil. There is ample evidence that these practices are effective and safe! Dino oil is a "dino" product. It's inferior to synthetic oil in every way..... | So let me put your on the spot: Why exactly is Mobil 1 better? Read the above again.....:) PC
