Subject: Re: BORING Toyota : MILEAGE?

>I've never been able to wear out a Toyota yet, co worker bought a 79 >truck new, still driving it with 530K miles, heck, I have a commuter >with 203K, both with zero engine work done. You can try to convince >yourself that Toyotas don't live long, but the entire world already >knows they do. Hey, did I ever mention how good looking those Slaabs >are? Uglier that a boiled can of worms, and to think you shelled out >good money for those!. I'll actually have to agree there, the "old" style Corolla wins the "best used car" year after year over here (Sweden), So i decided to check out "all" the brands (Toyota, Nissan, Honda, Saab, Volvo, Opel, Audi) when getting rid of my old car.. Why not a Toyota? Well, unfriendly welcoming byt the seller, who really did nothing more then to give me all the fliers. And simply no model which i personally liked to drive, I want a comfy leather interior, i want a 200+ hp powerplant, i want to be able to kill "all" instrument lights, i want a car which i pay no tax on since it passes as a "Enviromental class 1" over here. (Okay, the 1,8litre Toyota powerplant with a manual tranny does, so does the Prius. Frankly i dont know how that all fits together since SAAB now has all their gasoline power plants upto and including the 235hp in that enviromental class). And i wanted it all in a two door hatchback. However, when i decided to give my sis a car for her 18th birthday, a 1989 Corolla it was, flawless performer, but a totally "impersonal car". It flunked the first inspection over here due to some ireegularities about the trailer ball, but that wasnt hard to fix. I think my next car will be a Volvo S60R tho.. Seems like a fun car.. Then again, not a hatchback. So, now you know why i personally drive a SAAB (Nordic Modified 9-3 SE) my sis drives a Toyota :) (ok, sis would have driven a Yugo, aslong as it was free and it could tow her horse trailer *lol*)
