Subject: SV: fuel economy and thermostat problem

> Hi all, I need some more free help. > > 1. The dealer fixed the airconditioning smell (the sweet smell is still > there but not nearly so bad now). The trouble is, after I got my car back, > the external temperature sensor is going way too high (the engine temp > reads normal BTW). It read normally before the aircon was "fixed" but now > gets up to 45 degrees centigrade when driving around town. It appears OK > when on the open road. Anyone know what the story might be? > i would guess that your mecanic has pulled the temp sensor out when he worked on your ac and then forgot to put it back. On my 96 900 its located in the beam below the coolant and ac condensator. If he forgot to put it back, its now scrambling around in the warm air flowing through your coolant...... Is it showing normal temp before the engine gets warm this should be the reason! /Magnus
