Subject: 93 Viggen in Austin TX engine surge



I had an engine surge in my 2001 Viggen .  the RPM hit about 8000 before I
realized what was happening and shut it down.  To late to avoided damage,
the head is at the machine shop as I type, and new valves and pistons are on
the way from SAAB NA.  So after a lot of money I need to know if any others
have heard of this problem or experienced it?   Any information would be
appreciated.
