"Better car" is a pretty vague claim. The Supra is indeed a "very good" car, based on the same platform as the Lexus SC coupe. It is designed and built to a very high standard. And it's got made-in-Japan Toyota quality as a standard feature. I might have bought the Vette, but I needed a back seat. Any back seat, no matter how small, is a lot better than none, for me.
